The Office Season 2, Episode 3: The Dragon

I petted a dragon this week and it was super cool. But first of all, Wow MOTHERS DAY it was amazing being able to see the whole family and talk to them. It feels weird to say that I only get to do that two more times here on the mission. The time just flies. I feel like i just got out of the MTC and all of a sudden people are tellin me im practically half way done. How does that work?

Anyways, this last week we had a meeting for all of the district leaders in the mission to do a training. So I got to see tons of my Mission friends here in Maputo like my first Comp Elder Cox and then my first field comp Elder Flitton. it was a ton of work organizing everything and making sure everyone got here alright and that they all got home but in the end everything ran smoothly, except for when our pump for our missionary hotel decided it didn't want to work for the exact three days we had everyone there. After they all left the problem magically disappeared so that was super cool.

One cool experience was when I went with Elder Flitton and Stevens to drop off some other district leaders in their areas and we went to a restaurant to buy some food, we had this guy stop me and Elder Flitton and ask about Tithing. We talked with him, found out he had already read the book of mormon, prayed about it, and felt that it was true. He just didn't know what to do about it and of course we were super happy to try and help him find out! hahaha how crazy is that. The Lord prepares and we are just lucky enough to be a bypasser along the way that can point out the right direction. I love Mozambique.

Also Brother Root, the head of security here at the U.S. Embassy, invited us over for lunch and we talked a lot with him and his wife about his super rad life and all, and he also showed us his DRAGON OF A DOG hahaha he is so massive. They said he weighs 170 pounds and wow he is just massive. A picture of said dog will follow.

But overall that was my week. We taught some people last week that we thought were super cool, they accepted the lesson and seemed to understand everything but they just couldn't get themselves to show up at church.

Love you all. Moms are the best. Love you Mom! See yall next week(figuratively)

The Office Season 2, Episode 2: Master Chief

Where we left off last week we had been having a light crisis with all of our cars. I am here to report that our problem has only gotten worse hahahaha. Awesome I know. So our last functioning car decided that its front headlights had enough and just burned out.... super dope. Also the office has a 24 hour guard service and I am proud to say that all of my guards now know me and respond to me with the title of Master Chief.

This week was our Presidents wifes birthday, Sister Senna. President Senna came up with a great idea of a surprise party, the only catch being that he was traveling out of the country so the arrangements and all that jazz became our responsibility. Cool no problem, we just solicited the help of the sisters with their Cake baking powers and we made some decorations and found out a way to get about 40 missionaries there to celebrate her birthday. It was going to be perfect, they were going to get home on the plane at about 7 at night and we would have this little tiny party and that would be that, buuut that didn't happen.

We went to the airport and found out that their flight had been moved a little bit. They were actually going to get in at ...... 10:30 AHHAHA soo awesome, the only problem was that there wasn't enough time for us to get all the other elders back to their areas and all that and President still wanted the party so we decided to do the following... go back to the house, pretend that we had President and Sister senna with us, and then surprise them all with the news that the flight got delayed and that they were going to have to stay there wayyy late!! ?Hahaha they didn't think it was that funny, but I sure did.

Then we had an Elder who decided that his insides really really wanted to be on his outsides so he went ahead and had an appendicitis. The surgery went well and he is recovering but he will be staying with us for a while. Also, I have been chilling with Elder Grange and Elder Moreira here in Maputo as Elder Moreira figures out some health problems too. It's been great.

This week I also had the opportunity to teach a couple of people and wow it was amazing. We found A girl that was baptised a year ago with a bunch of her family. She asked us over to help the other siblings get strong in the church again. We went and talked to them and had a good lesson and then she took us around to all of her neighbors and set up visits with them with us. IT is incredible to see the courage of the people here. They don't get caught up in the social image the "what will they think, will they say no" mindset. They just share the gospel. Press forward with an eye single to the glory of God, doubt not, fear not. This church is true and blessings come when we share what we have. You can believe what I say or you can actually LIVE IT the choice is yours.

Love you all hope its an awesome week. Skype here in no time... it's going to be awesome. .....and the journey continues....

P.S. Also I may have given the impression that the Elder blew an appendix the same night we had the surprise party..... if so that assumption is false, the surprise party went great and the Elder decided to eject his appendix on different days so.... yeah
